Werner Herzog's new film,
Rescue Dawn, that was screened in a unique
Blu-ray format, had a full house premiere at Titanic. Distributed by
Forum Home Entertainment in Hungary, Rescue Dawn, starring Christian Bale, recaptures a true story that Werner Herzog had already engaged in, in an earlier documentary.
In Rescue Dawn,
Christian Bale gives a lifetime performance as Dengler, a big-mouthed soldier, a dishonored captive, a redeeming outcast. Bale succeeds in performing with such passionate energy that it reminds of the unforgettable performances of Herzog's muse, Klaus Kinski.

The stunning cinematography - although more simple and direct as in Herzog's earlier works - proved to be a unique experience due to the
Blu-ray format. The projectionists were very enthusiastic about the image that "rivalled the 35," hoping to introduce it in the cinemas on a regular basis. Whoever missed the Herzog epic can check out the unusual sound and image quality at the
Blu-ray installment in the festival centre, in the mezzanine of Uránia National Film Theatre.
